We started getting together for Best Friends on Sundays in early May 2012 and it kept going pretty regularly that summer.

A lot of us were invested in the awesomeness taking place in Montreal back then. It was a sweet and fucked up time and it made it hard to deal and feel human. And being with your buds and venting and celebrating life was super important.

And it turns out it's really fun to sing with your friends the most amazing songs in the world. And since Montreal in the summer can be a sweet place to be, every time we got together, it was also a potluck of friendship. Sometimes there'd be five or six of us, sometimes we'd be fifteen. And Paul and Enoch and Shane figured out the musical parts on guitar and then Risa gave us a bunch of kazoos and it was always sloppy and noisy and fun as all hell.

So yeah! That's Best Friends.

The songs on this album were recorded that time at Myrill’s house and that other time during the Thanksgiving party show.

For Dancing in the Dark, Eye of the Tiger, Both Sides, Now, Everybody Hurts and the Golden Girls song, it's Paul, Enoch, Farid, Myrill, Alexandra, Lucie, Colleen, Sean, Ashley and Alex that are singing. Paul and Enoch are playing guitar and some of us play other things like shakers and kazoos.

For Don't Stop Believing and Judy is a Punk, it's Shanna, Alissa, Niomi, Paul, Shane, Sasha, Mubeenah, Zinta, Layla, Luhba, Vanessa, Alex, Cole, Marlon and Caroline singing. Paul plays guitar on Don't Stop and Shane plays guitar on Judy is a Punk. Kazoos by Mubeenah, Luhba, Paul and Alex.
